Work

This is a view of the business park from the main street. I was stopped at a stoplight at the time. Don't judge.  ;)

This is where I turn to go to the building. The pic might be too small for you to read the sign, which says Catholic Health Initiatives

View of the building from my usual parking space. By the time I get there around 8am, all the spaces up there by the building are taken!

This is my very own new desk. Yay.  :)  Whoops, break's over...back to work.

Fall Pictures

I let Shannon drive around the neighborhood today while I took some pictures of our beautiful fall foliage. I can't get over the trees. This is still all new to me...palm trees don't turn pretty colors in fall.

This is one of my favorites...where you can see red and yellow and still a bit of green.

We also saw some deer while we were tooling around. What's up, buddy? Sorry about the butt shot...I asked him to turn toward me, but he wasn't listening.

 Well, hello there cutie.

People who have gardens don't really care for the deer wandering through, but I think they're gorgeous.

Before Danni left on Wednesday, we took some pictures. This one was Danni's favorite.

And this was my favorite. This one is now in a "Sisters" frame in Kylie's room.

 How sweet is that?

Since we didn't buy school pictures this year, we tried to do that too. I really like this one, except for the street behind her.

This is the one I will probably use as the "official" second grade picture. If that doesn't say Colorado Kid, I don't know what does.  :)

Kylie Goes (Indoor) Skydiving

Kylie and her friend Courtney watching the instructional video. As you can tell, this was the most exciting part.

Puttin' on all the equipment. First some knee pads...

Then their instructor, Mike, shows her how to put on the flight suit.

 I can do it, Mom!

 Zipped up in the suit!

Courtney's all zipped into her suit too. What's next?

Oh  yes...goggles of course. And earplugs. I guess it's kind of loud in the tunnel.

And the helmets. Kylie's trying to push her bangs out of her goggles because they were stuck. I helped her get all her hair stuffed up in her helmet and out of her eyes.

Waiting in the launch area with Courtney's dad.

She looks nervous, doesn't she?  She didn't act like it though!

Flying with a little help from Mike. He was a great instructor!

Courtney's turn to fly!

The first of Kylie's two one-minute flights. At the end, Courtney's mom was asking me if that was a minute, and I checked the time on my video, and that's why I'm saying, "Yeah, yeah."

Second flight. I had no idea Mike was going to fly with her and take her so high, so that's why I sound surprised!  At the end, Courtney's mom asked me why Kylie plugged her nose, and that's why I said I didn't know. Later, I asked Kylie, and she just said that air was going up her nose!

Well Courtney, what did you think?  Thumbs up!

Kylie said, "That was awesome! Can we do it again?"

Corn Maze 2010

We went to the corn maze again this year with the Awana group. Because Shannon goes with her friends too, I know the normal price to get in is $14. Going with the Awana group is such a great deal, because you get the corn maze, dinner, hayride and barrel train ride, all for $5 a person.

This year, our next-door neighbors Zoe and Clark are in Awana also. Zoe is in second grade with Kylie and her brother Clark is in third grade. We went to the maze together.

Kylie got her picture with Sparky!

There are two corn mazes, an easy one for smaller kids, and an impossible one for everyone else.

Kylie always likes to check out the kids' maze first, because it's fun.

Zoe seemed to like it too.

Danni went with us. She wasn't here for October last year, so we wanted to show her the corn maze.

Kylie and Zoe posing for pictures before going into the big maze.

These two are just silly.

This year, the object of the corn maze seemed to be not to get out of the maze, but to find as many stray ears of corn as you could...

I have no idea what this is about.

Clark looks scared by a piece of corn. I think he had just thrown an ear of corn over his head with his left hand. I think.

So, the object was not to find your way out of the maze, but to find corn...

And stuff as many ears as possible in your pockets.

Pockets full of corn, and still looking for more...

Kylie, help me find the way out of here!

No, I think I need more corn...

We never did find our way to the exit of the maze. We found the entrance though, so we went out that way. This is Kylie and Danni on the haywagon that took us back out to the parking lot. Good times.  :)
