Denver MS Walk 2010

On Saturday, May 1st, we did the MS Walk at City Park in downtown Denver. Between the two of us, Steve and I raised almost $500. Yay, us!

Kylie with a guy/girl in a shark suit. They had a lot of characters walking around.

It was rather chilly when we first got there at 7:45am, so the kids needed hot chocolate. They also served a free breakfast of pancakes or bagels.

On the left is Shannon's friend Sydney, who wanted to walk with us.

Someone please tell me why I can't take a decent picture? The last good picture of me was taken in 1987. I am nominating myself for the least photogenic person on the PLANET. Vote for me!

Team Walsh: Sydney, Shannon, Kylie, me, Steve, Steve's friend from high school Cindy, and her brother Mark.

Sydney and Shannon with their "champion" signs. Shannon's says "My champion is daddy (:", and Syd's says "My champion is Shannon's Dad (:".

About eight years ago when I was pregnant with Kylie, I joined a moms group on Yahoo groups. I met a lot of women that were either pregnant or had new babies. One of these ladies was Suzanne, and she lived in Parker, CO. She still lives in Parker. She has an eight year old son, Spencer, and she also has MS. Plus, she works for the National MS Society. Team in Motion is their corporate team. It was really fun to finally meet an "online" friend.

Suzanne spray painting Spencer's hair orange. Kylie didn't want orange hair. :)

This was Suzanne's idea for a picture. Spencer walks for his mom, and Kylie walks for her dad. She posted this picture on the Facebook page for the National MS Society.

Spencer and Kylie took about a minute and a half to warm up to each other, then they were duking it out with the foam fingers.

I think we're going to be making this a yearly tradition. It was a lot of fun!
